About Us

Blade Fencing Kuala Lumpur is part of the Blade Fencing network, which began over 20 years ago in Singapore and has since expanded to clubs in Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and China. The network's founder, Henry Koh, is a former SEA Games fencer who represented Singapore and a Stanford graduate — he also personally coaches Kiria Tikanah Abdul Rahman, a two-time Olympian.

Blade KL itself was founded in 2013 by Henry Koh and Nontapat Panchan, a 7-time SEA Games gold medalist, Olympian, and two-time NCAA champion. Since then, the club has grown to more than 200 members, training everyone from five-year-old first-timers to Malaysia's national squad.

Blade KL's coaches bring competitive experience and work closely with other Blade clubs and international partners — creating opportunities for collaboration, training exchanges, and exposure to high-level competition. From beginners discovering the sport to national team athletes, Blade KL is committed to helping every fencer develop technical excellence, discipline, and the mindset needed to compete at the international level.

Blade Fencing KL's mission is to introduce Olympic fencing to the wider community while developing disciplined, confident, and skilled athletes — through professional coaching, structured training and a supportive environment.
